Ihilitatem sequnt, cuptas velest, od maxim et et pa vitions entotatius doleni — I'm a photographer based in Brooklyn, working at the intersection of editorial fashion and quiet documentary portraiture. I've been making photographs professionally since 2011.
My commissioned work has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Kinfolk, Cereal, and Aperture. Brands I've worked with include Aesop, Loewe, Toteme, and MUJI. I split my time between studio commissions and longform personal essays — both are necessary.
I shoot mostly on 35mm Kodak and medium-format Hasselblad, with a small Fuji rangefinder for street work. Light first, gear second.
Commissioned editorial and commercial work for international brands and publications. Average of 26 commissions / year, 6 personal essays / year. Represented by AGI Brooklyn for licensing.
Staff photographer covering architecture, design and interiors. Spent four years between Milan, Copenhagen and London. Led the launch of three special issues.
Three-year assistantship covering studio production, lighting, and post. Worked across editorial, advertising, and Vanity Fair productions.
First years out of school. Small editorial assignments for local magazines and a regular column for Brooklyn-based KINFOLK. Built a body of personal portrait work in the off-hours.
Photography is half-craft, half-conversation. The technical part is teachable; the conversation isn't. The list below isn't a brag — it's what I've actually had to develop, on set, to make people feel safe enough to look like themselves.
