Editorial & commercial photography. Berlin · Tokyo · since 2018.
I'm a Berlin-based photographer working in editorial, fashion and portrait. For the past eight years I've been capturing stories at the intersection of light, place and the people who pass through them. This is a small selection of the work I'm proudest of.
— Available for commissions worldwide.
My approach is built on patience — finding the frame that nobody else is looking for, then waiting for the light to make it true. I work mostly with natural light, occasionally with a single hard source. Less, but considered.
Every frame begins with the geometry. Subject, negative space, line. The story comes second, but only by a moment — and never without it.
Heavy retouching is rare in my work. I prefer skin that looks like skin, and a moment that hasn't been edited into something it wasn't.
A curated grid of editorial and commercial work from the past two years. The full archive is available on request — I keep some quieter pieces for the people I'm working with.

"Photography has meaning if it makes the viewer feel something. Lenz finds that feeling, and never asks for credit for it."
